Elina Ikonen


Elina Ikonen has taught dance and related working methods to students, employees, and customers in social welfare and health care institutes and in the field. In dance and somatics training, she focuses on professional growth, developing working opportunities in the dance sector, and creating contacts with working life. Elina Ikonen has studied dance and movement therapy and social pedagogy (socionomy degree from a university of applied sciences), dance, community dance, dance pedagogy, and work counselling.

Content of instruction: Dance and communication, self-knowledge, group process and work counselling, pedagogy, dance and movement therapy, community and participatory art, and authentic movement.


Pia Lindy

Dance artist Pia Lindy has produced various solo performances and joint projects with various artists in Finland and abroad. She has taught dance and movement workshops at various educational institutions and outside them, worked in artistic workgroups and organizations, and written about dance and art. Pia Lindy graduated from the School for New Dance Development of the Amsterdam School of The Arts in 1995. In her work, she studies the expectations and values relating to society, dance, and art. What is it that dance/art communicates to us and what should it be? She has in-depth knowledge of improvisation and process orientation as a form of working and performing.

Content of instruction: Movement-exploration, improvisation and composition, artistic process, art, context, and society.


Malcolm Manning

 

Malcolm is a freelance somatic movement researcher, educator and performing artist. He studied at the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam in the early '90s and continued his studies later with many leading exponents of postmodern dance including Steve Paxton, Simone Forti and Julyen Hamilton. He is a certified teacher of the Feldenkrais Method and is deeply interested in experiential anatomy. He teaches regularly in Finland at TEAK and at ISLO. He also tours in Europe teaching.
